Recollections of a Regimental Medical Officer (1983) By H.D. Steward
Major ‘Blue’ Steward served as a doctor with the Second Australian Imperial Force in Syria and on the Kokoda Track. This is an intimate portrait of the Australian soldier’s service in these campaigns that is especially well written. Steward describes his time as a Regimental Medical Officer with the 21st Australian Infantry Brigade (2/16th Infantry Battalion and later 2/4th Field Artillery Regiment).
