New Zealand 15th Northland Infantry Regiment Cap and Collar Badge (c. WWI)

 

These badges were worn by members of the 15th (North Auckland) Regiment, which was formed in 1911 from Volunteer infantry units in the Auckland Military District.

 

The Regiment's insignia features fern leaves, symbolising New Zealand and a  crown, symbolising loyalty to the monarch. The Regiment's motto 'Pour devoir' is French for ‘For right’.
