Kamikaze (2004) DVD

 

Documentary that examines the fearsome suicide attacks carried out by Japanese pilots during the Second World War. The Japanese term 'kamikaze', generally translated as 'divine wind', was assigned to a programme of attacks which began in October 1944 and saw pilots purposefully crash ships laden with explosives into US aircraft carriers. The documentary takes a look at the phenomenon, its strategic importance in the war and examines other examples of kamikaze attacks.
