Gimlet Takes a Job, by W. E. Johns was published in 1954 by Brockhampton Press. It was the tenth and last Gimlet book.
 
The events in the book take place mainly on the island of Santelucia in the Caribbean.
Unlike many of the previous Gimlet stories, this one was not adapted by the French publisher Aredit for their King comic series which was published in the late 1960s and 1970s.
