Der Alemanne Newspaper (28 Juli 1941)
 
The Alemanne was a daily newspaper published by the National Socialists in the Freiburg im Breisgau area. The Alemanne first appeared on November 1, 1931.
 
The newspaper described its objective in the first issue as follows:
"His task will be [...] both to take up the political battle of the day against the lying red and black system press, as well as to be the long-awaited mouthpiece for the people there who are awakening to National Socialism in the spirit of Adolf Hitler's idea."
 
The newspaper had the subtitle "Kampfblatt der National Socialisten Oberbadens". She incited people and spread the Nazis' “ blood and soil ideology ”, which in the early days led to several weeks of bans. 
 
With the “ seizure of power ” by the National Socialists in 1933, the paper was finally established as a propaganda organ. At the same time was in Freiburg Volkswacht prohibited and other newspapers into line. The Alemanne was last published on April 20, 1945, and was then banned.
 
The editor-in-chief of the Alemanni was Franz Kerber, who in March / April 1933 prevailed with a smear campaign against the incumbent Lord Mayor Karl Bender and thus became Lord Mayor of Freiburg.
