Biggles in the South Seas by W. E. Johns was serialised as "Biggles' South Sea Adventure" in nine parts from 14 Oct 1939 to 9 Dec 1939 in the weekly magazine "The Gem". It was subsequently published in book form by Oxford University Press in September 1940.
 
Including reprints, there has been at least 22 subsequent edition in the English language. The events in the book take place in the late 1930s first in London and then in the South Seas.
