Australian War Photographs (1919) By Capt. Geo. H. Wilkins, M.C.

 

According to the Prime Minister's introduction, many of the photographs in this volume were taken under heavy fire. A pictorial record of places and events during the latter part of the 'The Great War'.

 

Book comprising 144 pages with black and white photographs and captions, edited by Captain George Hubert Wilkins [1888-1958]. The photographs are reproduced from official negatives taken by the Photographic Sub-Section of the Australian War Records Section. - Capt. Geo. H. Wilkins, M.C., W.O. A. W. Casserly, Staff-Sergt. R. W. Martin, Staff-Sergt. C Jackson, Sergt. W. Joyce, and Sergt. H. Lowe. the book contains an introduction written by the Right Hon. W. M. Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia.

The thin cardboard cover is stapled at the spine. On the front cover is a picture of soldiers near fences and barricades, and the words 'AUSTRALIAN WAR PHOTOGRAPHS - A PICTORIAL RECORD FROM NOVEMBER 1917 TO THE END OF THE WAR/ PRICE FOUR SHILLINGS'
